    Computer Depth

I took the October 2007 Electrical/Computer depth exam. There were questions on parts of the software life cycle, nothing specific on CMM. Definitely take the Art of Electronics book. It was very useful in the afternoon. Books I found useful for the morning: EERM7 NEC 2005 Handbook For the...

    GRE exam

Check out the MIT admissions website: http://web.mit.edu/admissions/graduate/pdf...rtment_info.pdf EECS (Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, page 8) doesn't need GRE! My guess is they look at letters of recommendation, GPA, reputation of undergraduate school etc.

    DMM/clamp meter accuracy

My Fluke-30 clamp meter lists this accuracy at the 200A range: 0-100A, 1.8% + 8 dgts 100-200A, 1.4% + 0 dgts What is dgts? Digits? Is this the resolution? I got 0.1A as the "best resolution" for this meter on the fluke website. So, is my accuracy +/-[(1.8% of reading) + 0.1*8] amps in the...

    Computer Depth

Looks like IEEE is involved: http://www.ieeeusa.org/volunteers/committees/lrc/default.asp I have “Classical and object oriented software engineering with UML & Java” by Schach, 4th edition. This book covers topics B1, B2, B3, and B12. These are the references I used for software: A...

    Computer Depth

Good luck wilheldp! I'm sure there are lots of good Software Engineering books out there. I used Software Engineering by Stephen Schach (was the Software Engineering course textbook at LSU). It had more than enough information for both the sample NCEES questions (#531, #535) and the real exam.

    NCEES Afternoon Power Problem 513 & 514

Problem 513: In this problem there is a full wave rectifier (with capacitor filter) on each of the three phases. Operation: Assume steady state condition and negligible diode voltage drop, like the answer says. Pick a diode pair (top left and bottom right for positive half cycle). Because a...

    Non-calculated questions

For safety/grounding questions, I found the NEC handbook helpful. Also, I found good info on this guy's website (later on I got his book): Web: www.thecircuitdetective.com/bkgrd.htm#chart Book: Circuit Down! by Larry Dimock
