    Failed Electrical Power

First of all, I would like to express my sympathy for those who didn't make it. I just passed the electrical (power) this last April for the first time and I know I would be so stressed out if I didn't make it. About the scores posted above from many people who didn't make it, I think you just...

    what's after PE?

Yeah, no kidding, esp. if you are not a member, the price is so high. I am afraid my company won't pay for the classes. So are you familiar with the process of getting the certification? Do we take the IT test first before we go through the complicated application process? I think it is more...

    what's after PE?

I hear ya; I'm still trying to recover from the PE exam as well. It was hard for me to initally started studying for the PE and so I feel while the momentum is still there, I might as well use it for something else. PE is important in the power world, but I noticed that some projects require a...

    Camara Power Sample Test #40

It's the giving value of one leg of the triangle. I wonder if we are looking at the same question or not. The Camera's #40 that I have is a delta load with giving R=3 and XL=4 for each leg and they are asking for the phase impedance Zp. The diagram that you attached look complicated which make...

    NCEES 105

The question doesn't ask for the disconnecting mean. It just ask for what is the NEC listed as the maximum locked-rotor current for the design B, 40 hp induction motor which is a straight look up table from 430.251.

    Camara Power Sample Test #40

The question asking for PHASE impedance which is resistor=3 and inductor=4. In another word it is impedance Z = 3+j4 and they just convert it to polar form wich is 5<53 ohm.

I'm getting nervous myself too. Good luck everyone!

    NCEES #118

I can't remember, but I think someone mentioned that when the problem stated that it is a single-phase transformer, you would use the square root of three different for delta-wye or wye-delta calculation, and not for a three phase transformer. Is that a true statement? Meaning that this problem...

    NCEES 515 vs. 518

Both questions involve with diodes but one used square root of 2 and the other used 2*square root of 2? Why?

    power factor correction

The question is "find the per-phase capacitance needed to change the power factor to 1.0." I'm too lazy to post up the entire solution, but basically the total 3-phase reactive power needed to correct power factor to 1 is 57.8kVAR. The solution then divide it by 3 since we are looking for per...
