I am a student studying civil engineering and was wondering how the job outlook for geo tech engineering is compared to the other areas of civil?
Also I was wondering if I should be keeping certain text books? Did you guys find use for your books in the office or for the pe?

My humble opinion is that there is A LOT of opportunity for geotechnical engineers, especially if you are focusing on the structural aspects. This is an area of engineering where many engineers shy away because of how strongly professional judgement plays into certifications.
I have kept all of my geotechnical books - they have come in handy. I am always referring back to my Das books.
