Congrats! What review courses did you take if any? I took the SOPE.
I did self-study but am also a Masters of Civil student at Texas A&M currently. I also have a Civil Undergrad Degree with a Transportation focus from A&M. I kept all of my formula sheets from exams and did ALOT of studying using typical reference materials.  HCM, Greenbook, MUTCD, Road Side Safety, CERM, and my notes are all I took.

I had several friends go to testmasters and pass as well. They scored about the same as I did.

I may look into the testmasters course.

Working backwards from what I got, the cut score for Civil Structural seems to be 45/80. A lot of people must have gotten certain questions wrong

Civil-Structural  (Failed)

AM 28/40
PM 20/40

Overall 48/80

So it must be a little higher.. Any got closer to the structural cut score?

@tyler_uri You don't get your regular scores if you passed. I'd love to know my score out of 80, but I can't get it. Just the scaled 74.
Ohh, I see, thanks.  I guess any scores that get a 69% we can assume the passing score was one more question.

So I'm reading the Engineering Practice Act (so I can do the Ethics Exam) and it says they have to give you your test results in 30 days. 🤣

Edit: Just kidding. It says if they use a testing service, they have 14 days from when they get it from the service.

::big hug:: Took me three times to pass.  Take care of yourself, eat something yummy for dinner tonight, and take a good rest over the holidays.  Then figure out what you need to do to pass the second go-round. You'll get it.  This board has been so encouraging and helpful during my journey...there are plenty of us here didn't pass the first time.  You're not alone!
Now you have to change the "interests" section of your EB profile. ^__^

So we've got the notice via email from TBPE and have our license number. We're in the TBPE PE roster listed as active. Has anyone ordered their stamps yet? If so, did you use the name they addressed you as in the email? I'm not sure if we should use middle initial or not. The notification email used only first and last name. I called the licensing department and the lady said to wait for a packet in the mail. What packet are they sending? I thought we only got the email notification stating what we needed to submit? Just looking for a little insight to see if I'm jumping ahead of things and need to slow my role.

I'm waiting to order as well.  At work I go by both my maiden and husband's last name, but I ::cough:: haven't legally changed my name yet. Waiting to hear a call back from compliance to see what I need to do. Don't want to start Day 2 as a licensed engineer by already breaking the rules! Hahaha!

Either way I didn't pass so I'm happy for all who passed, and discouraged for my results since I felt confident..
Please don't feel discouraged! The first time I took the P.E. exam, I could've SWORN I passed. I felt really good leaving the exam, and swore to myself that I'd have to take an organized class if I didn't, because I didn't know how I'd study differently (I self-studied the first time). The second time I took it, I took PPI's class and wasn't so confident I passed (I'd also basically eeaten a HUGE slice of humble pie when I found out I failed the first time). I failed. The third time I took it, I took EET and wasn't sure I passed... And did.

You'll get it next time! Just put your head down and assess how you might need to change your study approach.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will sign up for April again. The thing that sucks is that I know the test will be very different this next time so I can't really study my "weak" areas because they will change on the next exam.. I guess I will just do many more practice problems.

Yep, I feel you there. I took the exam in three successive cycles and the exam changed every time. It's the right approach to not just study your supposedly "weak areas". I'd take a close look at how you studied your first and second times, and see if you need to change your study strategy.

Also, doing as many practice problems as you can is a good place to start. When doing practice problems, a few things I found useful to keep in mind were the following:

1. Not look at any answers until I had fully finished a problem, or at least given it my absolute best effort. In my first attempts, I think I'd gotten kind of lazy and would check the answers to questions I thought I didn't know how to do or would get stuck on partway through. This was NOT beneficial to me, at all. I needed to give every question my all before looking at the answer.

2. Related to looking at practice problem answers, I would attack my practice problems like I would if I was actually taking the P.E. Exam. As in, I would go through however many problems (whether it was 5, 20, 40, etc.) I had assigned myself as time allowed, and wouldn't look at the answers for any of them until I was done with all of them.

3. Pay attention to what I did wrong in the problems. Was I making stupid mistakes, like misunderstanding what questions were asking? Was I having trouble converting units? Was I having trouble deciding what information was relevant, and what was irrelevant, to what the question was asking?

In my opinion, it's highly worth it to analyze you study strategy, how you do practice problems, and how you are making mistakes on practice problems. It could give you insight into what sort of traps you might have fallen into in your previous attempts, or at least give you a good idea of what to avoid on your next attempt.

Anyway, take a little breather, enjoy the holidays, and go get 'em in the new year, tiger!
