For the t = 2s/(v - v0), is the "2" a typo??? It doesnt make sense and none of the problems Ive done have used it and Im continually getting screwed by the "2". Am I missing something??????

you referring to the AASHTO formula or just in general?

maybe the s is supposed to be 'g' ?

i dont use the cerm acceleration equations, I generally use

t= (Vf-Vi)/a for time

from that sheet i posted (top of 2nd page)

Have you tried all the problems with that little sheet and have them work? I dont want to mess with something untested :)

It came from a college class(transportation class)

I have worked all the velocity problems in the PM_6 min solutions with the "little sheet" and got the same answer as the CERM.

Awesome, thanks for the info...I like the sheet better. Its more straight forward and easier to understand. And its better than 17 formulas or whatever...

Thought you were off for the day, havent heard from you :D

Dont forget the one for breaking distance uses mph!!! :thumbsup:

Where is a copy of the sheet of acceleration formulas? I am interested in getting a copy.

Thanks!!

I can repost it again on Monday. I guess some of the uploads didnt survive the server change last month

here is the file
