i actually just got back from the DMV, was in and out less than 20 mins and over the last few years the DMV here has gone through a major customer service overhaul. Actually quite friendly and knowledgeable. As opposed to previous years when they would yell at you or be condescending because you didn't fill out the form correctly.

 
it helps there is a web cam and estimated wait times posted online and i am just 5 minutes away.
