We didn't have much choice with our age gap. We actually wanted our kids closer together, but then the Army National Guard sent me to Iraq for about 15 months (well 12 months in country and three months training at Fort Dix), then 10 months later, I found myself training to go to Afghanistan and so by the time I got done with that, my son was turning 6.
