VIRTUAL STUDY GROUP FOR APRIL PE EXAM ON THERMAL AND FLUID SYSTEMS
A pilot virtual study group for the PE Thermal and Fluid Systems exam on April 13 has been set up. This Community will allow participants to post questions as they are studying for the exam. Weekly WebEx sessions will be held on Monday evenings starting on March 12 at 9:00 pm Eastern Time to discuss technical problems and exam-taking strategies.
The Community is at https://community.asme.org/pe_exam_study_group/default.aspx
Although the next pilot will focus on the Thermal and Fluid Systems Exam, those taking one of the other two exams in Machine Design and Materials or HVAC and Refrigeration exam are welcome to join, especially because the first session on basic engineering practice and thermodynamics and the last session on exam-taking strategies are relevant to all three exams.
The following schedule notes areas of emphasis for the weekly meet-ups, but problems in any area of the exam are welcome for discussion:
March 12 – Basic engineering practice and thermodynamics
March 19 – Fluid mechanics and heat transfer
March 26 – Hydraulics and fluid applications
April 2 – Energy/power system applications
April 9 – Exam-taking strategies, last-minute questions
