We serve customers in the Glass, Agro Feed & Food, Consumer Goods & Healthcare, and Resource & Environment markets. Our Strategy & Business Intelligence (SBI) team is looking for a new leader this is where you come in.
Your mission as a Strategy & Business Intelligence Manager
You’ll be leading our GBU’s SBI team, consisting of three team members, based in Paris and Brussels. With this team, you’ll delve deeper into the business of our customers, end markets and the competitive landscape. yYou’ll provide support to all aspects of the strategic decision making, as well as to the commercial teams on their commercial campaign.
Your main focus will be on:
• Creating maximum value for our business by effectively leading your team.
• You’ll create a vision for your team and ensure full alignment with our overall GBU objectives by periodically reviewing your team’s priorities and workflow. Building your team is part of the game: You’re eager to develop the capabilities and skills of your people, and provide daily coaching to ensure tasks are delivered efficiently.
• Building our SBI community and infrastructure with regional BI Managers.
• You’ll represent your SBI team during interactions with other corporate units of the GBU and broader Solvay organization, and will ensure state-of-art BI tools are available for your SBI team and the regional BI Manager.
• Delivering value for our business by managing special projects aligned with our strategic goals.
• You’ll be directly impacting our commercial and strategic decision-making process by translating SBI insights into valuable formats for C-level executives. In addition, you’ll participate in or drive our special projects in collaboration with external consultants.
The experienced analytical mind we are looking for? That someone fits the following profile.
• A university degree in engineering or economics (additional Master’s in business administration is considered a plus)
• At least 8 years’ experience in an international environment, of which preferably 4 years as a strategy consultant and/or business analyst in a chemical company
• Outstanding quantitative and modeling skills to coach a team
• Ability to absorb information quickly and solve complex conceptual and creative problems
• Fluency in English, French and ideally a third language
In addition, you are by nature curious, digitally savvy and well organized. You enjoy working with multicultural teams from different countries around the world – and are available to travel within your role.
