i live in Florida, and only have to consider Hurricanes in my design criteria.

The seismic Simplified method, seems to require almost perfect symmetric building. Will the only method on the exam be simplified or should i be studying the full method?

The simplified procedure rarely occurs out here, and i don't remember much of the test being on it. The Equivalent lateral force procedure is much more common. But that is only one method of analysis, you should be studying buildings, non-buildings, non-structural, all the specific cases (diaphragms, tanks, electrical, etc).

The Hiner manual does a great job of breaking down what's on the test.

Actually, i'm sorry, are you asking what's on the PE structural portion or the state specific seismic exam?

Yes the Structural P.M,..........

it appears that you both are dead on with the equivalent lateral force. Thank you guys.
