I am really upset, and scared, now.

Was driving to the job, it was raining like crazy and visibility is no more than 20 feet. That hard was raining. It is still dark and you cannot be expected to be doing 70 something in the highway under these conditions. At least I cannot.

So I am in the center lane, had a car to my right and no car at the left lane. I was doing 75-76(cruise control) but when reached the area where it was raining I turned the CC off and went down to 55 or maybe less. I cannot see too far ahead anyways so I am taking it easy.

This freaking ***** came behind me, he had the left lane open, and start flashing lights. I thought...WTH?...He can go to the left lane and drive by me but NO....he stayed in my rear end flashing lights and very close. Remember it is raining very hard.

After no more than a minute(20-40 seconds the most) of that crap I decided to do the only thing I could and tried to take the left lane. I put my signal to let the ***** know and started to move to the left lane....He pushed me from behind!!!!!!!!!! Sent me to the median and I started to do 360 on the grass. I was only thinking that I was going to end on the opposite lanes(the ones coming South). Pretty helpless.

I don't know how but my car did not end on the other side of the highway. Not by much but did not leave the median. I am still shaking. It has being raining hard down here at f@#ing South Florida for maybe a week. Everymorning is the same thing in the highway and everyday there are idiots doing 80+ under these rainy conditions. What the hell are these morons thinking? Are they thinking at all?

This time I was lucky and came unscratched, my car's rear bumper does not even have a dent, but I am OK. I thought at one point that an underwear change was in order but did not have to.

Ohhh...I stayed in the median for some minutes until I was able to drive again. No one stopped to check if I was hurt or something. Very nice!!!!!!!!!.....Anyways it was still pouring so maybe nobody saw me.

Next time don't :bio:

Wow ... that is scary !!!!! Thankfully the only thing rattled was your nerves.

I think I know the road you are talking about and it is NOTORIOUS for obnoxious, unruly, rule-breaking miscreants. I used to say you take your life in your hands whenever you enter that road and that is under OPTIMUM driving conditions :true:

Worse yet is that highway has been under construction for as long as I can remember - it will probably stay that way for some time!

Glad you are okay :)

So he hit you and then didn't stop? Although, someone so deranged that they think it's acceptable to push another car from behind on a highway I probably don't want to chat with.

That's messed up. Glad to hear you are okay, but it's still really messed up.

I'm the ******* that slows down when someone gets on my back bumper, then when they do try to pass me I speed up so they can't.

Damn Luis, you are a calm person.

I would have tailed that car until 1. I ran out of gas, or 2. followed him to work or home, and it would have been on.

I cant stand A$$holes

Damn BIO, glad you are alright.

People do not realize what their cars can do, especially to other people. It was misty and rainy this morning, and on the busier parts of my commute, I go a little slower, when the highway opens up and there are fewer cars, I go faster.

What really pisses me off are people that do not adhere to the posted signs "Stay Right, Except to Pass". they hang out in the left lane impeding traffic. Part of my commute is a 5 lane road, the rest is a 3 lane road... I am generally in the middle or next to left lane... unless I am passing.

Having had to take training on driving fire trucks, I feel I am more conscience of my car and what it can and can't do; where it can and can't go... most people just have the attitude of get the hell out of my way, I own the road.

Makes me want to find a job where I can work from home.

I was not able to think about following him, to be honest with you DV. I was expecting the hit from the other side of the highway. Actually I ended going South and then took the first exit to turn back to the North. The median was too wet to try intentionally driving thru it.

Answering to Roadwreck...No...he/she/it did not stop. I am not sure what kind of vehicle. I only was able to see the lights flashing all the time, but it was not a truck.

Just be careful in the road my friends. Everything can change in a blink of an eye, no matter how cautious you are. You don't know wo is driving the other car.

You were real lucky BiO. It's too bad you couldn't get his plate number. I wonder if he was on the run from the cops or something.
If that was the case, why he/she did not use the left lane? It was clear. There was a car in the right lane about a car lenght in front of me.The more I think about what happened the less I understand. I don't really know what to think. Just glad I did not kill myself or anyone coming from the opposite way.

For what it worth, cannot feel my knees yet.

Luis:

Glad to hear your alright (other than the nerves). Too bad you don't have any information to try to find this A$$. At least, it was justa scare and there's no physical damage.

People suck there's no doubt about it.

Whoa! I'm glad you're ok!

Don't worry about the *******. Karma already has a target on him/her.

Holy ****! I'm glad to hear you got lucky and made it out of that without any injury or even damage to your car. That's lucky.

It's too bad the ******* will get away with that kind of ****, though. IN my opinion, that's attempted manslaughter, at least, and a person should spend several years in jail for that kind of reckless disregard for other people's safety.

Holy crap!!

You were lucky to walk away from that one. Glad to hear your nerves were the only casualty. I've seen some silly stunts on the highway lately but I've never seen somebody get pushed like that.

Some of my friends think I'm living on the edge with the small plane. I'm convinced the most dangerous part of my trip is the drive to and from the airport.

I forgot to ask this....

Now my car has a strong vibration everytime I put the brakes. Did not have it before the 360s incident. It is possible I broke something? I am not good about cars so any help is welcome.

I realized yesterday afternoon how lucky I was. One mile before or after where the bump happened and I would have hit a guard rail or a tree.

Geeez.

Do you notice the vibration at a specific speed or is it only when you're braking (and at all speeds)? The lateral pull on the wheels during a 360 could screw up any number of things especially if the car has a few miles on it and the components are worn.

If it persists I'd have a trusted mechanic take a look.

It is only when I am breaking. Yesterday on my way home had to reduce speed because a truck cut in front of me and it vibrated very hard. It vibrates only when I am breaking, as I said, and the faster I go when I break, the harder it vibrates.

I probably broke something. Rats...darn it. So much for coming out of it unscratched. Well, it could have been worst.

Your brakes might be a bit loose. Still, it's been a LONG time since I've worked on my own car. I'd take it to a trusted mechanic like MA_PE recommends.

I'm betting you have a big clump of mud in a rim. Happened to me when I was forced to take an 80mph excursion through the median.

If the frequency of the vibration is directly proportional to speed of travel then it's a rotational eccentricty. CVan you tell which wheel it seems to be coming from? If your car has disc brakes that you can see/touch, check for any obvious warping/ damage. Make sure they are cool before you touch anything. Check the calipers for any signs of loose brake pads. Any grinding/sqealing noises while you brake?

I hope it's nothing big.
