Question: Scheduling for the PE exam (NYS)

I received a letter from the NYS qualifying me for the April 2012 PE exam.

The problem is, I'm not ready for the April 2012 and I'm planning to schedule my PE exam by October 2012. The letter that I received from NYS Education recommend me to be admitted on April 2012.

Any advise?

I received the same letter last year for the October exam though I intended to take this April's exam. I called the state and they said that the letter is really meant to tell you that you are now allowed to sit for the exam (earliest for you would be April 2012). If you push to October it won't be a problem. The wording of that letter really freaked me out when I saw it. I thought the same thing as you because I was in no way prepared for the October 2011 exam. Hope that helps.
