Position Title = Project Director
Education Required = Engineering or Construction Management degree
Years Experience Required = 20 out of which 5 - 10 years have been spent on similar programs and role is required.
Position Description = Engineering firm is seeking to employ a Project Director to manage a $10 billion development in
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia that is expected to become the largest financial district in the region, covering a land area of 1.6 million
square meters and home to the Saudi stock exchange and major Saudi banks, businesses and institutions.
* Candidates must have previous experience in managing a multi-discipline team.
* Demonstrated expertise with the integration of infrastructure and architectural design, engineering, procurement, &
construction activities.
* Applicants should have a track record of providing direction & successfully managing programs with values greater
than US$ 1 Billion.
* Candidates must have excellent written & oral communications and negotiation skills; a thorough knowledge of
industry practices & regulations.
* Experience working in the Middle East is preferred.
Duties:
* Direct responsibility for the management of the Program
* Responsible for the timely delivery of the services & successful execution of the Program
* Manages, supervises and directs the activities noted and provides high level overview and strategy to the Owner and
the PM Team.
* Ensures the Owner’s goals (scope, schedule, budget & quality) are defined and documented.
* Prepares a strategic plan for executing the program
* Ensures a plan for maintaining program schedule, budget and quality is prepared
* Coordinates activities among the core team and groups within the Owner’s organization Schedules and conducts
program meetings.
* Monitors progress of all program activities, compares status to the plan and initiates corrective action if necessary.
* Oversees the administration of project contracts including payments, change orders and contract compliance.
* Manages the maintenance of program records and financial reports. Prepares periodic status reports for the Owner
* Arranges and chairs meetings, provides project documentation, facilitates issue resolution, data, develops reports,
develops and manages project budgets and schedules and following up on instructions and commitments associated
with the project.
* Ensures project management plans, Health and Safety Plans, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans and other plans
are reviewed as required. Monitors projects and reports progress of all project activities, including significant
milestones and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule.
* Responsible for the assignment of qualified permanent staff to positions in a timely fashion, and to that all members of
the team are aware of, and have a common understanding of their authority, responsibilities, and their relationship
with each other and the project
* Oversee the development of the Management Plan for the delivery of the Program, including all associated procedures,
forms, systems and organizational structure
* Oversee the development of the Program phasing strategy for design, construction and delivery in consultation with
the Owner.
* Oversee the development of the Master Schedule for the Project and the establishment and tracking of milestone
dates
* Monitor the Contractor’s corrective measures in the event there is slippage in the schedule, advice accordingly
* Conduct and chair meetings to review the status of the separate projects
* With the assistance of the Construction Managers, ensure that the staff assignments to the projects are maintained
to meet the demands of the Program and that the same staff are used efficiently
* Provide guidance and oversight of the work performed by the Design Manager
* Ensure that the design criteria and standards are established early in the Program in order to facilitate the aesthetic
continuity of the installation as well as to avoid repetitive designs and reviews thereof
* With the assistance of the PCS Manager, provide oversight of the development of procurement for design and
construction
* Provide guidance and assistance as required to the PCS Manger in the development of schedules and reports; review
the same prior to submission to Owner
* Oversee the development of the Logistics Plan for the Project and provide guidance regarding Contractor interface
* Oversee accounting and reporting functions, and the administration of project accounts
* Manage Program effectively and mitigate any issues leading to delays including early intervention with approval of
Owner
* Oversee the development of recovery plans for delays, and present to the Owner for approval and implementation.
