I'm new to the boards so I will start with a brief background.
1. BS Chemical Engineering, UNM, 2006
2. EIT Certificate, NM, 2006
3. Electrical (Power) work experience, NM, 2002-Present
4. 2.5 years qualified experience as Electrical Senior Designer/Project Manager
5. The company I work for has 1 EE, three, 3 ME's, and a handful of very qualified (15-35 years experience) designers/project managers.
My father is the President/Owner of an Mech/Elec/Plumb consulting firm, and is the Principal Electrical Engineer. My intent is to follow in his footsteps and become an Electrical Engineer.
Upcoming events that might become issues are:
1. Any problem with having a BS in ChE to eventually be licensed as EE?
2. Professional references.
New Mexico requires 5 references, 3 of which must be PE's, and none who can be family. With a written explanation, do you think my father can be used as a PE reference (special circumstance)?
And can the ME's be used as a professional references? I work with the ME's, not under them, technically.
Thank you~
