Goooooooooooood morning everything is a dumpster fire spam.

But! I am eagerly awaiting yarn to try out this sweater! I'm way more comfortable with crochet than knitting, and this will one of my first knitted garments. It looks pretty accessible and the yarn looks like so much fun.

I'm currently knitting this sweater and so far so good? I'm only on the first panel though and haven't even started any of the shaping yet. idk idk. If I finish this, this will legit be my first knitted sweater!

I've crocheted sweaters but prefer aesthetic of knitted garments.

Ok, back to the dumpster fire.

I have been wanting to learn how to crochet or knit. My grandma used to crochet all the time. Is it easier to learn how to crochet than to knit?

It is easier for me but I learned how to crochet first. I will say you only have to worry about one hook versus two needles, and I think it's much easier to correct mistakes. But I've heard the opposite from people who learned knitting first :) Either are accessible for beginners though! What's nice about that second sweater I linked is it's just one stitch, which makes it way easier!

I also really appreciate that if I'm struggling with a stitch or a technique, I can just go on YouTube and watch a demonstration.

If you're wanting to learn but want to bypass the boring "make a washcloth" pattern (which drove me craaaaaazy), let me know and I can link you to some easy/fun patterns for beginners (for either technique!)
