In all seriousness, that's my favorite part of the "your people" joke. Like, Cheb *is* a controls guy, but didn't even take the specific exam in question. It's the kind of comedic irony that makes my heart glad. 😁
As far as I know, every controls engineer I know took an electrical PE exam.

 
With more and more companies now requiring an electrical degree to be called a "controls engineer," the power and computer exams are probably the more popular options since those two subjects are heavily taught in most curriculums, whereas control specific topics are rarely taught.

Heck, I'm doing controls now and I went for power.
