I can't do that to my friend!  She's so tiny and adorable and wants to be real low-key (I don't think I can even get her to wear a bride-to-be sash)!  I think we're going to do a murder/mystery theater show in NYC and maybe a speakeasy afterwards for hanging out.  She doesn't drink due to medical issues, so nothing too crazy.

Shower...God I'm hoping it can be held at someone's house so I don't need to go crazy with decorations.  Are couple showers a thing?  I kinda want her husband and his family/friends to be there too?
My mom and aunt invited themselves to my bachelorette, and two of my three bridesmaids don't drink, so I kept it super low key. Went to a paper goods store and did a little party where we made fun portraits, etc, then went out to eat. It ended up being a lot of fun. :)

Does she want a shower? We skipped the shower. We'd already been living together for several years at that point, we already had crap.

Is she already married?
...no?  Bachelorette party is usually before...Which is why the bride-to-be sash is usually a thing, as well as dildo tiaras (I have never done a bachelorette party that included that, but we did go to Vegas and saw something down under that was like a male stripper show, which was more funny than sexy).

@LyceeFruit I thought Jack & Jill/couple showers were a thing, my cousin recently did it, but wasn't sure if it was more mainstream or just my cousin being lazy.

@txjennah PE Not sure if she particularly wants a shower, but I'm thinking it's another opportunity for people to see her and the groom before the wedding?  This is the friend I talked about who moved her wedding up by a year, so it's kinda short notice and a shower might be easier to do than a wedding for some people.  She is living with her fiance, and they have a house, but they might use the shower as a way to get more practical stuff that they've been eyeing and never bought (or even use it as a fund for the honeymoon)?

idk if they're mainstream tbh but they're definitely a thing and a completely reasonable thing in my ever-so-practical mind

and RB was questioning you since you called her fiance her husband when talking about the joint shower

edit: also if she/they don't want the shower, i'd skip it since its one less thing for you to plan and fret about

I keep switching husband/fiance/boyfriend/whatever he is since the wedding is happening so soon.  Like, they don't even have invitations out yet (screams in procrastination) so I'm calling him her whatever from now on.

As for the shower...she did mention it a couple times.  Not sure if she is mentioning it as a "we need to do this" or a "weddings have this, right?", but I figure if it can be held at someone's house it'll be easier.  She gave me free rein to figure out the dates and actually said she would prefer if it was all done on a single weekend since I have to travel in to come.  I def think a more 'party/get together'-vibe is better than a 'girls only'-vibe, since she doesn't really like being the center of attention but her fiance is really excited/happy about getting married to her (AS HE SHOULD BE).

*edit* - Why are all my top posts about me complaining/worrying about something?

Looks like an upslope front. Enjoy...

For people not familiar with Colorado's front range, this typically happens about once or twice per year.
Yup! The foothills (where I am) are getting the brunt of it, but they've closed both the interstates to the east due to blizzard conditions. 70 to the west is also shut down in two places, one due to rock slide and one due to a hazmat/DOA accident. I think 25 north is shut down to Wyoming for blizzard conditions as well. At least 500 flights are canceled out of DIA.

So glad I'm WFH today.

Ugggggggh, I'd love to move to Denver!  Snoooooooow.  Healthy living!!!!  I have a friend who lives there that I def need to go visit sometime soon.
I went in 2015 and I looooved it. As much as I loved Austin, I told Husband I'd leave Austin for Denver in a heartbeat!  I'm still hoping we end up there one day. I'll put up with snow for the Rockies.

And yet, you ended up in Indiana.

Took the wrong interstate?  😬

He did actually have an interview in Colorado, but it would have been in a more remote area. And he got this job offer first :)
More remote?  Ohhhhh, yeah, you might have made the better choice in that case.  Remote Colorado gets...a bit creepy.
