Indeed. Was it fake? Some of it yes. But it was great entertainment pre-internet/social networking.

And I'm probably dating myself, but we (high school group) used to get together at someone's house for the "pay-per-view" match-ups (i.e. Wreslemania, etc.). LOL

In high school we had Nirto Parties every Monday for a good year and a half. It started off with about 5-6 guys and by the end we would have some nights where 20+ people would show up. Good times.
