I've never dealt with shoring/reshoring. Can anyone explain problem 534 on the construction depth exam? Particularly, the (1.50 D-0.10 D) in the solution? Where is the 1.50 D coming from? I'm guessing its in one of the reference books but I haven't found it. Thank you

Google is your friend. I used aci 347 section on shoring, and this pdf I found, the pdf spells it out better with drawings but doesn't quite explain it as good as ACI 347. Shoring was new to me too, and I had to do a few problems with shoring a few times to get the hang of it, and still wasn't 100% on it when it came test time but this helps.
