Cincinnati...just Cincinnati!
Well, we just finished up work on my first project. It was a pretty straightforward job that was only two weeks long...a dewatering and inspection of one of our 1200' locks. Loads of fun was had by all. I got to drive my first manlift (nothing better than learning under fire) which is loads of fun when you're 60 feet up. Since this was the 1200' chamber we did 13 straight 10-hour days so we could get it back up and running ASAP. That took a little getting used to but the OT will be nice come payday, not to mention two weeks worth or per diem. We're right across the river from Belterra Casino so the wife came down last night and we went over for a little while and I managed to win $150.

I was able to get a picture of the "office" when we were moving the fleet over into the 600' chamber. It's pretty impressive the first time you see it...basically an 800' by 100' mobile construction site. They've can do pretty much everything right on site...there's a full machine shop on one barge and another barge is essentially a floating diesel generator/compressor/water pump.

'Nother random question, but is the bridge that goes from Warsaw to Belterra Casino at the same location of these locks?

Yep...you can see a little bit of it in the picture. It goes over the locks and across the dam. Big reason there's a casino in the middle of nowhere...there are only so many places you can cross into Kentucky so usually there's a casino somewhere close. The wife came down to hang out Friday night and we went over to the boat. I won $150 on one of the slots.
