I have a bachelors in EE. I graduated about an year ago and have been working in a large IT Consulting Firm. My work is not related to EE. Last year, I took the EIT Exam purely out of interest and passed it without any preparation.

After 3-4 years I want to take the PE Exam. My concern is that my IT experience might not qualify me to take the PE Exam. I'm looking for a mentor, preferable in Northern Virginia, who can help me build qualifying experience for PE. The vision is to develop skills, alternate/side career, and possible independent consulting after a couple of years. I don't intend to quit my current job.

Any ideas?
