Mechanical Project Engineer – P.E. Required

Large Oil Refinery in Westminster is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a current California P.E. License to join their growing team. In this role you will be involved in system designs for petroleum, refinery, energy and industrial projects. You will be using your strong knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI and NFPA codes. Will be utilizing system design on piping systems with the ASME B31.1 and B31.3 codes. Requires experience working with cities and local authorities in submitting drawings, calculations and other items as well as responding to correction requests and obtaining permits. Will be communicating on a regular basis with Vendors, Sub-Contractors and co-workers. Will prepare specifications of components to mechanical systems such as Fans, Compressors, heaters, combustion systems and more. Will prepare specifications for piping systems including valves, pumps, heat exchangers and more. Checking drawings. Conceptual sketching by hand or using CAD programs.

10+ Years experience in mechanical project engineering, refinery

Current California P.E. License required

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineer required

Strong understanding of ASME, API, ANSI and NFPA codes.

Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B 31.3 Piping Codes

Experience working with the City and Water Municipalities. Ability to obtain permits from them and work with corrections and approvals.
