Is a holly a bush or a tree? I've heard both. We had a holly tree in my parent's yard, and I hated it. Was about 20 feet tall.

We have a 'bush' growing next to the house. I've been told if we keep it trimmed, it'll stay a bush, but if left unchecked will turn into a tree.

I've seen pictures where it could be trimmed to look like a landing strip. But I definately agree with Benbo's recommendation.

All I know, is that hollies are classified as angiosperms.

If you went for the Brazilian, your dilemma over how to trim would be completely solved, at least for the time being until new growth emerged.

Let me explain: What the Brazilians do is... No, nevermind, it's too hard to explain in words. Let me draw you a picture.
