Confirmed... NCEES has disabled the chat feature on their web site...uhmm.....

Well if it's not this Thursday I'm going to be even more impossible to live with.  I thought we'd get a prize if we guessed the date right.

What actually happens when results are released for boards that release through NCEES? Is the first place to see they're released is through MyNCEES or will the email go out first?
It varies from state to state. In most states:

  • The board (or some representative thereof) authorizes NCESS to release the pass/fail result and exam diagnostic (if applicable) to the examinee
  • The board then does their internal process for alerting the examinees of the next steps. i.e. license, steps to gain license, re-testing, etc
  • other next steps
Some states use a third party service like PCS or CST to do that above steps for them. It goes like this:

  • The board authorizes the contractor to confirm that NCESS results are valid
  • The contractor releases the pass/fail result and exam diagnostic (if applicable) to the examinee
  • The contractor does their internal process for alerting the examinees of the next steps. i.e. license, steps to gain license, re-testing, etc
  • other next steps

Some states do it all themselves:

  • The board releases the pass/fail result and exam diagnostic (if applicable) directly  to the examinee. This is usually coupled with the next steps in the process like  i.e. license, steps to gain license, re-testing, etc
  • other next steps
Looking back it looks like results are released the same or close to the same day that registration is open for the next exam. For the more seasoned guys, is that accurate? If so, we're in for the long haul... June 18th. Someone has been projecting that date on some of these threads. Starting to think he/she is right. That would be a little over 9 weeks.
The results are always released in every state prior to the deadline for re-registration. It's probably a coincidence the the initial release usually predates the open registration by a few weeks to a month. Some states in recent memory (Pennsylvania) have come close to releasing just before/after registration opens.

Thursday. Thursday. Thursday.

Thursday.

Seriously, Thursday. Everyone knows this.

Not today. Not tomorrow. Not Friday.

Thursday.
