Geotechnical Engineer
Pomona, CA: 2 year contract
Job scope,
Conducting geotechnical tasks in the office and in the field as assigned.
Requirements,
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering. Engineering In Training EIT. Five years+ of experience, good communication and interpersonal skills and be familiar with OSHA requirements.
Job description,
Visual inspection, site reconnaissance for slope instability & landslides, review available literature & published reports and state maps. Provide sufficient support in the writing of the geological section of the Geotechnical report. Participate in preparing the geotechnical reports and perform calculations for complex projects. Conduct field explorations, sampling, soil classification, visual inspection, analysis and technical support under the supervision of the senior engineer. Candidate shall have broad knowledge of grading, drainage, slope stability analysis and liquefaction. The candidate should be able to travel and perform field and office tasks. Knowledge of foundation design (shallow and deep) is required.Candidate must possess general knowledge of soil environmental characterization such as TPH, CAM, VOC and PCB as outlined by EPA requirements.
