Most likely doing an NYC ---> Florida drive next year and Fayetteville is just about the midpoint of the trip.

There is a TON to do in Fayetteville... I lived there from 2003 to 2008. Are you just looking for an overnight, stop on the way through to FL? if you only have time for something short hit up down town, and go to the airborne and special ops museum and then get a fried bologna sandwich from Vicks drive in

and if you want sea food there don't go to Joe's, you go to 316 oyster bar or Peadon's

the city worked really hard to clean up down town and it's pretty quaint, there is a diner in the haymont area that has awesome dives, also you can pretty much find anything on (or just off of) Erie Blvd... the mall is over that way and they have all the chain restaurants and stuff over there... just don't stay east of 95

you also have south of the boarder just over the SC state line which is the "big half way point" for that trip usually
