I have the vacation time...there's a 'coverage' policy here though that would require a lot of finessing for me to take that much time off at once.

nothing to cover when everything gets shut down, they turn the heat off and no one unlocks the buildings

Do they pay you for those two weeks?

We earn vacation and sick time during the year too

I actually prefer to take the vast majority of my vacation in December.

I just hate being in the office any time around Christmas...and definitely not between Christmas and the new year.

I don't really care much for the heat so summer vacations don't really do much for me.

Plus there's the massive crowds everywhere because all the kids are out of school.

I suppose once mini-Ram is old enough to be governed by the school schedule I'll have to rethink my vacation taking.

But until then December it is...with quite a few 4 or 5 day weekends thrown in there.
