Because of the laws in CO, the attacker can only be charged with crimes against the mother (attack, attempted murder) and cant be charged with murder of the baby.

Hopefully the autopsy report will show the baby took a few breaths. Definitely a very poorly thought out law. Seven months isn't really what most people would call a fetus.

An inventive PA would probably say that the baby was alive when removed from the mother and thus a separate individual and would charge her with murder...

Unfortunately the case is in Boulder, where they believe humans or a bad thing so I wouldn't expect them to care about the baby

And no I am not trying to make me this an abortion issue I just think if you kill of a pregnant mother who is beyond midterm you should be charged with two murders regardless
