I just got my PE results back (California). It says I passed the Take Home, the 8-hour and the Survey exams. But it says I failed to appear for the Seismic exam and that I forfeit my application fee. The problem is that I WAS THERE AND I TOOK IT AND IT WAS LONG AND HORRIBLE. Will I have to retake this god awful test again? Did they lose my test? ... It sucks cause I have to wait till Monday to talk to anyone :(

Wish I could help or offer something encouraging. It sounds horrible, but you have to wait until Monday and call the board. You are really at their mercy. Good luck.

It wouldn't make any sense that you would take the survey but not the seismic. I hope it's just a temporary error. For cases like this I think they need toissue receipts at the test site or something like that.

Do you remember anything about the guy sitting next to you? I'd start thinking about how you might provide evidence you were there... though if they really lost your test, all you can hope for is a free retake.

Still, I'd think there's a good chain-of-custody process and it's only a matter of time until they find the missing test. Good luck!

I still haven't gotten a straight answer from the board. It sounded like it was a minor error and they were trying to resolve it. Whenever I call over there, I get directed to someone else and end up leaving a message to call me back. And of course I never get called back. I will continue to call everyday to check on the status and I will also be checking my mailbox to see if they send me a new letter. I will keep everyone posted on the outcome.

Is there an appeals process? You seem to have a legitimate complaint here. This goes way beyond a mere hand score, and it might be in the fine print.

Did you keep any documentation from the exam? Did you sign anything upon entering the exam room, or did the proctors somehow collect your information? The best evidence might be in someone else's possession. The procedures for these exams are structured in the name of security, but they can be to your benefit in proving you were present. If they lost your exam, that is an entirely different issue, and one I hope you don't have to deal with.

Collect and protect all your paperwork, but until then, keep calling and pestering the board.

I suggest writing a letter to your representatives in the state legislature and copy the board. They will get to the bottom of it much quciker if those who control their appropriations are aware of the situation.

I thought we had stickers or something proving what tests we took? And you weren't able to leave without showing the person you had yours still.

That's just what i seem to remember.

THE ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED. I think it was just a glitch on their end. They did not ask me for any information. I just told them what happened and they eventually got back to me and said the issue had been resolved and that they would be sending me a new letter today. I checked online today and my name is officially on there. Boy am I relieved. :multiplespotting:
