I am having a brain block today. I am reviewing a facilities plan for a community and am having difficulty determining how the Equivalent Dwelling Unit was calculated?

If anyone could share what they know, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you in advance.

Sanitary EDU's typically depend on the WWTP's planning module.

In my area of PA 1 EDU typically is between 260-400 gpd; however in some citys such as Lancaster the pump stations and WWTPs are rate for 800 gpd (1 EDU).

For pump stations and sewage planning of subdivisions over 150 homes we typically use 100 gallons per capita per day (24 hour) ; under 150 homes use 75 gallons per day per capita (16 hour). All of these would be based upon current census for the area.

So I guess the question is what aspect of the sewage planning are you reviewing? Pump/lift station or capacity within a WWTP?
