Neat Sig but you hit on one of my pet peeves.

Since this is in the Rant section:

Posted/Printed pictures of OSHA violations. I am not sure what kind of fall protection the guy needs.

What catches my eye all the time is illegal use of a step ladder. Its illegal to step off a step ladder and using while it is leaning and not open all the way.

Our local paper always prints pictures of construction in the area and there is always an OSHA violation in the picture.

I am waiting for the day that OSHA starts using the local journal instead of site visits.

Sorry rant off.

Absolutley not.

Work in the construction industry.

OSHA is a good idea, with way to much power. A goverment agency that is solely suported by the fines they generate.

OSHA has decided that they are traffic safety experts on our projects lately. They back down when you prove they are full of crap, but they come on like a bull at the start. We work hard to keep the job safe and these assholes come on like they are the :brickwall: . you wanna see my MHT? right here buddy :th_rockon:

OSHA are a bunch of lightweights. I used to work for a coal company and had to escort MSHA inspectors while on company property. Both Federal and State. MSHA guys are the ones that are like a bunch of bulls, they make OSHA look like the girl scouts

yeah, we used that one as our "poster boy" for safety.

Ladder is not being used correctly

Not tied off (7 feet off the ground)

also, if you look closely there is no guide rope on the load they are getting ready to pick. not like you could guide that pipe.

yeah, we got them to at least change out the ladder. there was no way to tie off though.

I am serious about our local paper working as agents for OSHA.

Every time they take a picture of construction it is a step ladder on a roof leaning on the coupala (spelling) with a guy on the top rung reaching to put up the wind vane.

I have started a collection.

I also have a outdoor Generator with a belly tank that stands four foot tall and no stairs. The supper indenent of schools is standing on a lader looking at the controls.

I would love to service that unit.
