If you haven't gotten yours already and you're in an ELSES state, keep a look out for your ELSES notice.

I got mine yesterday.

I stayed home from work yesterday and did a full 8 hour practice exam... Really wanted to go outside and enjoy the rare 81 degree March day in Minnesota but I resisted.

FL, here.

I got my notice yesterday as well. guess that means I officially have to take the exam...sigh...

You actually don't have to attend the exam if you feel unprepared. It is just listed as a No Show, but of course you don't get your fees waived. Go figure.

I have been holding out to retake the exam. I haven't felt like I could prepare the way I would want.

Good luck.

Toady.

A "No Show" will count as a Fail , and in Florida, three

So how did you do? I failed my practice exam, but it helped me focus on my weak areas and I was able to pass the real thing.

I too failed my practice exam Metro. It definitely grounded me and deflated the overconfidence I was started to get. When the time came for the real thing, I was much more comfortable with myself to just do the best I could and see what the results would bring.

And Ritchie, it was 81 in Minn? I must live in the last place in ever gets warm. I had a lovely 42 degree bike ride in windy overcast conditions last night.

81 is too hot for me, but 60 wouldn't be so bad.

I got 48/80=60% on my practice exam, wish I had done better but it should be a good learning experience. I already knew my weak area was structural but also helped understand how they word questions, what information is given with the problem, etc. From what I am hearing how I did is probably typical, it sure does get it in my head that I better keep my nose in the books the next few weeks!

(I borrowed the practice exam book from someone I know, he had written all the answers in the book... so I had my secretary go through the book and cover the answers and any other stuff he had written with post-it-notes and copy it... so I had a clean copy to start with... thought it was a good use of company time to have her do it... LOL)

Yes it was really 81 in Minnesota on Monday (New record!! BTW 81 is our average high for JULY!) I hate hot weather too VT, thus why I live in Minnesota... but it wasn't that bad Monday as the humidity was really low (unlike a summer day here when it will be 81). Its back to reality now as our highs for the next 10 days are only in the 40's & 50's. (Rather have it cold now so I am not as temped to go outside instead of study!)

I'll chime in with yet another one who failed the sample test, and passed the real thing. And echo what else has been said.

When I started studying last july for the oct test I had to cover the windows I could see out of from my desk, just to keep me from being distracted. The sunny fall days were worse then the summer ones, because you knew there weren't that many of them left.

Oh well, it was worth it.

Hang in there, and keep on studying,

John
