Since there has been discussion about the difficulty level of April's Geotech PM, I was wondering if anyone here passed it. I surely did not. I actually scored exactly the same as last exam (October 2006).

Just curious.....

Ktulu,

Did you pass? How do u think you did in the afternoon Geotech.

No, I did not pass. IMO, I had to purely guess on more questions than I would have liked to, which probably was my downfall. But the questions that I knew, I was fairly confident. Just wasn't enough of them to pass...

Plus, I kinda shot myself in the foot on several AM questions...

I guess I passed the afternoon Geotech. I got a letter from ELSES that just says Pass. I found the exam to be difficult as well, and had to throw a few darts in the afternoon. I was a bit more than uncertain as to my results, but I passed. Thank god. I felt real good about morning, not so well afternoon. Hope that helps, sorry you didn't get it this time. :reading: Keep trying.

I passed, and took the afternoon Geotechnical Section. I put in a lot of time studying as I only wanted to take this thing once. Coming out of the exam, I felt that I probably scored around a 30 on the AM and about a 25 or 27 on the PM. I only had to guess at a few AM problems, I answered about 30 of them, narrowed 8 down to 2 or more, and guessed at 2 strucutral questions. I didn't even spend time looking for answers, just chose a circle to fill in. For the PM, which was much harder, I felt good about 20 of the 40 questions, narrowed down about 10 and guessed at the remaining 10. I do feel that the problems that I was able to work a solution for I got right.

I don't know why, but I sort of struggled with the morning. I felt pressed for time, and I remember being real concerned that the morning was not a breeze. My strategy was to kick butt in the morning, and take my chances on the Geo PM. Turns out that I was real happy about how I felt I did in the afternoon. I think I only guessed on two questions. Of course, I have not received my results, but I am trying to remain "cautiously optimistic".

I passed the October Geotech PM. Sure, that has nothing to do with your question, but I felt the need to see that statement in writing again.

I took the afternoon Geoteh. In my opinion they asked more soil hydraulics than foundation design. I got a 68 (Texas Board gives the score). I am debating should i pay $75 and go for regrading....................Do you guys know about any one passing the PE after regrading??????????????

Please help

dont waste your time or money on regrading . . . .

i did some lookin into it and ever since they switched to the "fill in the little circle" format for a "regrading" all they do is look to see if MAYBE you filled in the wrong little circle for your PM selection and make sure that only ONE little circle was filled in and there isnt some "foriegn" mark or blemish on your score sheet . . . .

has NOTHING to do with all that work you noted in your answer booklet. they dont even look at that anymore.

Damn, 68 so close and yet so far. Keep you chin up. I wouldn't waste time on the regrade. Unless you know of specific errors in the questions or maybe other valid solutions that yield answer that were given. but who could remember that stuff?
