Questions for all:

What were the facilities like when you took the exam? Did you have nice chairs, large tables, good a/c, or more like a dungeon?

Where did you take the exam?

Anyone take the exam recently at the Miami Hyatt Regency?

In CT, I took the FE at Retschler Field in the club house. It was a good location, chairs were ok, but in the late afternoon, the sun started to shine in and hit the test takers. It got hot! Take your lunch, since you don't want to risk not getting back in time. I took the PE at the Civic Center. Not that great of a facility, had to pay for parking, but there were places to go (coffe shops, eateries) during the break

Prepare for the worst...dress in layers, bring ear plugs!!!, bring a cushion, lunch etc...

I took the FE in musty church basement on metal foldingchairs and folding tables.

I took the PE in a hotel. Looked like their cocktail hour room, the bar refridgerator was turning on and off all day. Nice padded chairs but the skirted tables were only like 18inchs wide and were plywood (very rough).

I took the FE in a classroom at West Point. Plastic stationary swivel chairs and a fairly narrow stationary desk. Kinda unwieldy because you couldn't adjust much.

And who can forget the prescribed lavatory routes! (Got yelled at for not following it once)

Took the PE in a musty Masonic temple basement on metal folding chairs and folding tables. Tables had ample room, chairs made a lotta noise when you slid them. Lighting was poor.

I took the PE in an ofice building in a function room. Folding chairs with tables ~3ft x 6ft with two people to a table. I was fortunate and was by myself at a table so I had some room on the desktop to sread out. It was manfated to keep the floor/aisles clear so references that weren't on the table had to be kept under it. That made it kind of a PITA to look for/ retrieve references. I took the STR1 test so I brought a LOT of references.

I brought a lunch so i did not have to deal with trying to get one somewhere and worry about getting back to the exam on time. Protors were diligent but not overbearing.

I took the PE in a resort hotel. Narrow conference tables that you could not fit a book in front of your answer sheet, but comfortable environment and reasonable proctors. Then, after lunch, we learned that a wedding was goign to be using our room, so we had to pick up all our stuff and move to another room. That added about 30 minutes to the lunch hour. Same kind of room, but with the sun streaming in, hotter, and all kinds of noise form the wedding preparations.
