This is why I do almost all my own car servicing. Sometimes when you take your car to get serviced, they may have a newbie working on it.
The car wasn't making the sound when I went in. I figure they looked at the brakes and they were 100% gone and stopped looking. Don't feel like I was taken for a ride. The brakes needed to be replaced and thats what I payed for. If there is something else, I guess that needs to be taken car of too, though it would have been nice to have it all done at once.

 
you can tell if it's a caliper sticking. Drive the car for a while and when you stop, get out and feel the wheels on both sides. If you have one that's much hotter than the other, it's probably a sticking caliper.
