CA Seismic Exam Results for December 2022

Hello,

Waiting room for December exams. Hopefully we get results back by this friday

I actually made a mistake by taking it on December as I didn’t know that I can’t retake next quarter if needed.

I am waiting anxiously. I took the Survey exam on the 19th. I really hope I passed. Studying when you are older and with kids is not easy. It is funny though everyone seems to think it is harder when you are older because you have to relearn everything. I believe what it really comes down too is being able to put in the time to practice. How can you have time to watch 1-2 hours of TV and/or spend hours on your phone but not study. If you can't do that then the exams will be impossible. I have the 8 hour done now just need both CA specific exams. Fingers crossed, Happy New Year and Good Luck all!

No I did not. I am studying for seismic now. Hoping to take the test soon once I feel ready. I think seismic will be easier.

I have two young kids, and with work and home life, effective study time is at a premium!

I used Hiner's workbook Seismic Design Review: Home for seismic and Reza's workbook Civil Surveying Workshop, Civil Engineering Workshop | Rates & Times | Sacramento, CA. Both of them are extremely helpful.

I used AEI for seismic and passed on my first attempt (I do not have a structural/seismic background).
I am retaking surveying this quarter but have used CPESR and Reza for my prep. A coworker gave me her Mansour resources and I also have EET so just really trying to understand the concepts/timing I struggled with the first time.

Unfortunately that's correct. Since you're already in a new testing quarter, you can't sign up in the same quarter.

Timing may not work for everyone but it's strategic to take your exam in the 1st or 2nd month of the testing quarter to give yourself a buffer in case you fail so you're allowed to sign up in the immediate following quarter to retake it.

Results are in as of 2:18 AM. My wife and I both passed!!
