Thanks for noticing that little artistic detail. I tried to visualize myself in the position of the cow and experience what it might be like to walk around with a 400lb methane processing device on my back and a large hyperboloid collector up my ***. When I opened my eyes, the cow's expression just came to me and I captured it to the best of my ability. There's no reason science and art can't synergize.
