Quality Footwear Technician (m/w/d)
YOUR TASKS
- Quality, longevity, safety: your keywords to deliver the best products to our customers.
- You ensure our products are risk assessed and put to every necessary test. Further, you communicate any findings internally with instructions on how to iron out any discrepancies in the final product.
- You establish clear guidelines for box checks and engage production quality assurance support to train the staff appropriately.
- Together with the quality management team you ensure QA manuals, standards, and best practices are regularly updated and communicated.
- Eagle-eyed you identify key problem areas alongside the product management and product development teams and promote improvements.
- You work closely with the QM and Sourcing teams to make sure that our suppliers are audited and able to test raw materials to Birkenstock standards.
- Furthermore you support your colleagues cross-departmentally regarding quality matters.
- Last but by no means least, you communicate any serious return issues and work towards limiting them as far as possible.
- Several years experience working within the footwear industry, preferably in Quality Control or as a technician
- Detailed knowledge of product standards, quality control systems, shoe production processes, laboratory test processes & standards, and footwear material properties
- Practiced in inspecting bulk shoe production and resolving issues relating to product assurance and quality within multiple factory locations
- Team player with great problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and responsibly
- Strong communication skills (both spoken and written) with a good command of English
