?Bearing Capacity Safety Factors, Qall?

Maybe my CERM is out of date, but it says to calculate allowable bearing capacity as follows:

Qa = Qnet/Safety Factor

The 6 min solutions Geotech book (noteably Prob 53) is using Qultimate.

6 min says using Qnet is erronious!

This is also coming into effect for other Safety factor/bearing capacity problems. I would really appreciate some clarification.

OK, I misread that particular question. It specifically says to "Ignore correction for over-burden" which makes the use of Qult obvious.

Same for other probs. I'm gonna stop skimming problem through problem statements now ;}
