I should look into getting a cat.... but I also am considering getting a new car.... I can only handle one decision at a time.

I'd recommend getting a new cat and a used car. Used cats are ok too, I guess.

Yes sorry, I would get a "new-to-me" car, likely 3 years old.
I would also get a "new-to-me" cat, likely from a shelter. 
I wonder, at what age past birth does a "new cat" become a used one? Maybe 6 weeks?

I'd classify a used cat as just one that was previously owned.

I would stay away from used cats. They're almost always damaged goods. There are plenty of cat breeders out there that need your support.

No unfortunately not, I have always wanted a little monkey though, but they are like $4000+ the last time i looked.
The only way to cover that cost would be to train it to steal watches and other things...

That reminds me, I was learning Russian before the PE, but took like 3 months off to focus on the PE only so I likely forgot a lot... time to brush up on it again.
