Bostik Leicester is a key manufacturing centre for the Bostik UK business. The site is split across two processing units, water based and hot melt adhesives. The site produces over 15,000 tonnes of product per year and is currently going through an investment programme.
Job Description

Bostik's success is founded on its reputation as a great employer and it's ambitious growth plans across the UK and in Europe. As the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for managing and improving the maintenance function within their Leicestershire based site. This role will report into the Site Manufacturing Manager and will involve managing and developing a team of multi skilled maintenance engineers whilst managing the day to day maintenance of the manufacturing facilities. This successful candidate will aim to improve plant efficiency, implement and manage PPM systems along with overseeing staffing requirements, recruiting and training new and current employees.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting a site focused on Safety

Ensuring legislative compliance
Create a positive production environment
Design production process and machines with 85%+ reliability
  • Plan and oversee all aspects of plant development

Develop, document and train operators according to controlled operating procedures (SOP's)
Prepare work schedules
Conduct formal safety audits to ensure all manufacturing resources are in working order; document and report all problems
Prepare budgets and forecasts for assigned activities in accordance with the budget
Measure productivity and identify key areas for improvement, cost reduction and improved overall efficiency
Improve and create a change in environment on site
Implement proactive maintenance on site
The Successful Applicant

The Successful Candidate The Successful Maintenance Manager will have a self starting attitude with the following:

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline (preferred)

Experience with Control systems (advantageous)
NEBOSH Qualified
Knowledge of improving a PPM system
Over 3 years in a management position
Proficient computing skills
Good communication skills
