    Would like some studying advice

This is a tough time! Closing in on exam date, trying to figure out how to spend your remaining weeks. OOF! You mentioned Zach Stones videos - Youtube videos are a great resource! I listed all the videos/channels I used in my studying here. In case there are any there you haven't found yet...

Advice please on stress and depression about test going to CBT

@SparkyBill - I feel so much empathy for you! Ahh! Especially since it sounds like you really do enjoy the learning aspect. I'll echo the words of encouragement from others on this thread - everyone has said some really helpful things. Especially the sentiment about 'not letting the exam define...

April/October 2020 Power PE Exam Prep

Heck yeah! Look at those elegantly organized D-rings. You are gonna kill it! Seriously though, that is SO MANY problems! So much repetition and studying just tucked in every corner of your brain. So good! Good luck 😃

April/October 2020 Power PE Exam Prep

Not sure if this will help you, but the other thing I did once I had my dividers & sections & TOC sorted was that I wrote on the top right corner of pages - just a little 'keyword note' about what was on that page/in that problem. 'motor, DC, theory' or similar. That helped with the...

April/October 2020 Power PE Exam Prep

Haha! Yes. The great debate. 'is it worth the time'? I obviously think 'yes'...since this is basically ALL I did, and I passed using that binder I made. It does come down to 'learning style' - I tune out of lectures unless I'm writing something down, so the 'binder' method worked well for me...

April/October 2020 Power PE Exam Prep

I'm glad to hear it's working for you! I believe at the time I took the exam, there was only one Electrical 'exam' available from Justin, and it was a 'PE practice' exam in that it covered all topics, 80 questions, 8 hours, etc. I'm glad that he's making/offering more products - I liked his...

    Hello, Everyone

Good luck with your pursuits! I am also EE. I'm very curious about the power industry - i really enjoyed my uni classes on those topics! I think you'll be well suited to sit for the exam - the 'power industry' related problems are real stumpers for people outside the industry (myself included!).

April/October 2020 Power PE Exam Prep

I took the Eng Pro Guides exam as my very last practice exam VERY close to the real exam and I got a failing score....then I still passed the PE. Don't let that one discourage you! It's tough! And worded slightly differently that all the others. It was definitely a curve ball. BUT, then I did my...

April/October 2020 Power PE Exam Prep

I'm glad you like it! It was somewhat cathartic to write it all out after sitting for the exam. It felt like taking a giant pile of chaos out of my brain into a (hopefully) useful/understandable format. I get a little spark of joy every time someone finds it useful 😃 Best of luck on your studies!

April/October 2020 Power PE Exam Prep

hey! no problem! I made the ToC for myself to use, so no reason not to share it! I have had a few people reach out about an 'updated version' of that ToC for the newer book version...but I haven't been able to help with that since I don't own the newer version (I have no need to own it)...

ADVICE PLEASE What order do you suggest me take these practice test?

I didn't have a lot of overlap with you on exams I bought - I had Justin's and the NCEES out of your list. I had no idea what order to take them in, and my biggest struggle was when to take the NCEES one (not too soon so as to fail it miraculously, not too late so as to unveil new topics I'd...

PE Electrical Power please flood me with information

Congrats on the FE pass! As LyceeFruit mentioned, there are numerous threads on this. Two you didn't mention in your post are Engineering Pro Guides and Zach Stone's course. These are both good providers who are active online and continuously improving their products. Have a read through this...

    Completed Problem Sets & Organization

Yay!!! I remember having a few of these 'click' moments. THE BEST! These were really great for my mental health in the last few weeks before the exam. There were just more and more 'oh THATS WHAT THAT MEANS' moments. SO good. I'm so happy for you! I'm sure there is more to come!

    Completed Problem Sets & Organization

Interesting. I went and looked at the TOC to see what you were talking about and noticed a spelling mistake (face palm). Whatever! I was tired!  Anyway, I think that must have come from the PPi book section on DC? I generally lumped everything 'DC' under that section, and I recall reviewing...

This is exactly what i did when that happened! Should have mentioned that. It was only a handful of problems that I 'copied'. 😃

    Completed Problem Sets & Organization

I uploaded my TOC on this website (Under Step 2). It was for the Oct 2017 exam, so it'll need tweaking. I did spend a lot of time on it though, starting from the exam topics breakdown provided and then tweaking/moving/revising/changing as I figured out what 'went together' and what didn't. It...

    Using Practice Problems as Reference

I sorted every problem I did into 'sections' of a table of contents I created. The TOC grew, changed and morphed as I studied and realized what 'went together' and what didn't. (Power PE). I uploaded it on this website (PDF) so others could use it as a reference point rather than having to come...

Cramming for October 2019 PE Power

Howdy and good luck!  I was where you are a couple years back. The last month.  Such a roller coaster of confidence, doubt, questions, concerns, triumph, and bad days. I wrote up my experience/method here. You may find it useful to read through if you are trying to gather/structure your prep...

    PE Electrical Power- Problems

I'll second Engineering Pro Guides! There are 2 exams and also the 'technical study guide' has practice problems in each section.

9 Weeks to go folks! You got this!

When I hit roadblocks with certain question types, especially late in the game, that is when I went to youtube. Inevitably I would find someone who explained something in a different way or said the key thing I had been missing.
