    CA Seismic Reference Mat'ls

Unless you're planning on moving out of CA, get the CBC. If you want to get the IBC, you only need Vol. 1.

    CALIFORNIA RESULTS

I am on the database as well and have a license number. However, my expiration date is June 30, 2009...which seems really early. Does anyone else have an expiration date after ~6 months? Is the cynic in me right in thinking this is just a ploy to get more cash when I have to renew? OK, after...

Does anyone know when we'll get our scores? I assume it'll be on the letter w/ the PE registration number? Is there a score for the Principles & Practice exam b/c the PELS site has it as a Pass/Fail test (ie no cut score)?

    NCEES Pass Rates Are Up

I passed the CA Civil PE exam on my first attempt and was wondering if there's anyway to tell how many people passed all 3 modules in Oct. '08? Statistically, it would have to be less than 755... http://www.pels.ca.gov/applicants/oct08stats.shtml

PE Sample Exam - Water/Enviro Diffuculty Level?

Thanks BC... Yeah, I know I need to work on the stoichiometry problems. The calculations are always fairly straight-forward (g/mole, mg/l, etc.) but it's starting the solution off with the correct chemical equation is what I find difficult. I'm gonna have to work on that this week.

PE Sample Exam - Water/Enviro Diffuculty Level?

Last weekend, I took Lindeberg's PE Sample Exam and faired OK in the breadth exam but seriously struggled with the depth exam (Water/Enviro). While I need to pick up the pace solving the problems in each session, I found the difficulty of the afternoon exam to be very concerning. I was really...

Possible to cram in Hiner's review in 1.5 weeks?

I have "the other board's" seismic material and I'm gutted I actually paid money for books with problems referencing the old code. I even find it difficult solving these problems w/ the new '07 CBC. I am getting a copy of the Hiner material this monday night. Is it possible to squeeze in all...

HELP! Problems with CBC code on a seismic scale!!

Sorry for above pun... I am using "the other boards" study materials for the Seismic exam (Lindeberg's Seismic Design book, 345 Solved Problems, & Sample Exam). They aren't based on the new '07 CBC but I figured even if the exact code sections don't match up, I'd still be able to study the...

ASCE 7-05 required for breadth exam?

Thanks Casey. I wish I realized I wouldn't need to know how to design a reinforced beam for the morning exam BEFORE I spent a couple hours on each problem! Off to the cash register....

ASCE 7-05 required for breadth exam?

I purchased the ASCE 7-05 code while studying structural problems that constantly referenced this code (reinforced concrete design, etc.). In hindsight, I realized I was over-studying difficult problems b/c I am doing the Water Resources/Enviro depth exam. I want to return the book b/c it was...

    CA Seismic Reference Mat'ls

Thanks DE for the info. After forking out over $800 in books, problems and sample exams, I'm sticking with the Seismic material I already have. If a second effort is req'd, I'll get the Hiner. I hope that's a decision I don't have to make! Back to studying...
