    CESCP Exam

I'm looking for a practice CESCP exam too. Have you found anything yet?

Should I keep unused comity licenses?

My employer had me get licensed in every state that we do business and agreed to pay the fees as long as we're doing business in those states. Now we're not doing business in some of the states so I'm responsible for the costs of those licenses now. Is there any reason I should keep licenses...

Does California require Continuing Education in order to renew our licenses? There wasn't anything mentioned on my renewal form, but I always hear engineers talking about having to complete CE credits for their license.

I got my renewal notice today. You have to pay the delinquent fee if postmarked after 5/30/12 so there's no rush.

1.) Took a week off of work and enjoyed the free time with my wife. I especially enjoyed not studying. 2.) Sent them out the day I found out I passed. 3.) Got three frames from Aaron Brothers a couple weeks ago. One for me B.S., one for my PE Certificate, and one for my future M.Eng. The B.S...

I'm not sure what the selling point was on their decision, but it was a bad one. I don't think anyone would mind a slight increase in their renewal fees to cover the rising cost of plastic.

The board provides us with a frameable certificate (without an expiration date) and a portable license (with an expiration). We are required to keep the license with us at all times (I heard about someone that was audited and was reported for not having his license with him at the time). The...

The pocket certificates came in a separate envelope so it may just be that they haven't sent them out for the CEs yet. The link you provided explains why they are so cheap. It has an expiration date on it so we get a new one each time we renew. This is our proof that our license is current.

I just got my Pocket Certificate and it says that I need to laminate it and carry it with me at all times. Are they serious?! Is anyone actually planning on carrying this thing around with them at all times? They could have at least made it the size of a credit card so that it could fit in a wallet.

I got my certificate on Wednesday, Jan 11. Unfortunately, since none of the engineers in my office display their credentials, I stuffed it in my file drawer along with my Bachelor degree.

Congrats! It felt like the power exam had more experience and code related questions than calculation dependent questions. Your twenty years of power experience was probably much more helpful than the typical BSEE. I don't think I would have passed if I hadn't worked on certain projects over the...

I dislike pre-inked stamps in general because it's usually a pain to find a replacement cartridge when the ink runs dry so I'm getting a regular stamp. But I work for the government so I won't be using my stamp anytime soon. The pre-inked would probably be more useful if I stamped drawings often.

The expiration date is no longer required. You can just leave it out if you want.

I've seen a variety in my office, but now that you mention it I noticed that the majority are R P E. So now I need to decide if I will follow the majority or stick with my logic.

Trev, thanks for checking with the board. I think I'm going to go with the Licensed Professional Engineer title. I think it has more meaning for non engineers that don't understand the significance of the Professional Engineer title. I don't like the Registered Professional Engineer title...

The example in the Board Rules and Regulations shows the NUMBER in the middle and the BRANCH below it. It seems redundant to list the branch and also put the letter next to the number. I think the NUMBER is just your number and the BRANCH differentiates the discipline.

Don't forget your business cards. I've got a box of a thousand that are usless to me now, but it'll be worth the cost.

I checked last night and I wasn't on it, but I'm on there this morning too. They must be updating it overnight. This is going to be a great New Year!
