    While being a fairly "new" engineering firm, I really don't want to start writing everything around the '95 format, and then find out everyone else moved into the '04/10 format... Hence the confusion...and why would they (CSI) completely reformat like that??

    The 1995 Edition only has 16 Divisions, where the 2004/2010 Edition has 48... I downloaded the PDF from CSI for the 2010 Edition and it is 209 pages long...

    Do you think engineers are on the way to becoming “cheaper by the dozen”?

    The biggest issue that I see is the fact that most clients are going to the cheaper as opposed to possibly the better. In my former company, cream of the crop was always hired (as still holds true today), but it is hard to compete with "mom and pop" firms that take the same amount (or even more)...

    :rotflmao: In the civil/environmental field that I work in, if you don't get field experience the contractors will beat you to death via change order because you don't know what they are talking about...and believe me, contractors know if you have field experience or not. I learned a long time...

    Has anyone gotten their stamp yet?

    I got mine back in 2005 :) ... On the serious side, be sure you check with your State boards, some of them will only accept stamps from certain suppliers. I had to order my NC stamp from a supplier listed on the State website.
