Hi All,

A description of my education history is as follows:

  • BS - 4-year accredited engineering degree (Graduated 2014)
  • MS - 2-year accredited engineering degree (Graduated 2017)
I recently started working at an environmental consulting firm and would like to earn my PE sooner than later, however, I have still yet to complete my FE. I would like to know what sort of timeline I can expect to set for myself over the next few years with the final goal of attaining a PE license. Is it true that I will need 2 years experience AFTER getting my EIT to progress to a PE? Will my previous work experience (in environmental engineering industry for ~1 year, and doing MS for 2 years) be invalidated because I didn't get my EIT right after my undergrad?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Most of that depends on the state. What state are you in? It might be worth sending the board an e-mail with you questions.
