Structural Depth PE Takers, is the Structural Engineering Reference Manual a little excessive in preparing for the Civil PE?

???

I would think it excessive in some areas, probably deficient in others. (but then again I'm not sure what's in the SERM).

I would say that it is a little much, but it definitely won't hurt you to have it. I didn't use it much if at all during the exam, but I did find it useful when I was studying.

Yes, it goes in depth on things that were never tested on. However, it did come in handy when I needed to reference some quick stuff. Just make sure it is tabbed for easy access. I did not study off of the book and passed the structural depth.
