Number of annual EE test-takers and licensed EE PEs?

Hi,

I got to thinking about the exam and realized I have no idea how many people across the country annually take the EE power exam. I did some searching but couldn't find even a tidbit of info. I am also interested to know how many people are licensed electrical PEs. Has anyone come across this info? My wild guess is a thousand test-takers each year, and maybe 10,000 licensed EEs.

This is what I found during my lunch break today.

It says for Alabama, 44 "Electrical" exams were taken in 2010.

Some in the Fall exam could have been the 11 people who failed in the in the Spring.

28 people passed on the Electrical exams in Alabama in 2010.
