I attended a workshop in December where two presenters provided really good information about 1,4-Dioxane. Both of the presenters characterized 1,4-Dioxane as an emerging potential chemical of concern. For myself, I would not characterize it that way. Contamination by 1,4-Dioxane at chlorinated solvent sites has been documented as far back as 1996 - the major problem is that the analytical method detection limits have not caught up to the necessary resolution to accurately quantify the constituent at threshold criteria.
