I was going to do this very thing.  I have a different machine design book and it has several errors throughout and no formal errata list that i could find.  So i went shopping on Amazon for Shigley's but never pulled the trigger.  Good to know that this text isn't a must for the exam.

Still would like to have a copy though, for reference if nothing else.
